Blessings Bestowed Upon Me

Eid is the festival to celebrate the oneness of relationships, emotions, and happiness with our loved ones. A moment of sharing the divine blessings earned after a mammoth 30 days of fasting and prayers with the ones we love and value in our life. I am also blessed to have such a beautiful soul in my life, who deserves to be part of a proud and adorable blessing story of the journey we traveled together. 

It feels like each of us has a gift; and we are meant to discover it, and share it with the world. Somewhere along the way, we may have forgotten our gifts, but our gifts never forget us.

She is such one of the precious gifts of my life, She is my friend, my critic, my savior and guess what...

"She was my worst companion", it’s like lion and goat on the same boat. She always believed in roaring and I take my sweet time to respond. We both had our share of experiences and tinted glasses to see the world. Her stern yet not so open personality seems totally against mine, one who just can jump at any place and find acceptance but still takes time to make some hard decisions. We met like two different shores of an ocean, connected with something but seems to be never meeting ever. 

In my Ph.D. days she met me and we were just batchmates and nothing more and one fine day as if Ice breaks, we got a chance to visit Clock tower with one of our common friends.

And like all beautiful stories start we explored the beasts inside us on a crowded narrow road. For her things are either right or wrong but for me things are just right, you need different dimensions to see them and two bulls were left open on the roadside to have a superb bullfight of opinion. And guess what who won...

"We both" 

As our horns touched and were stuck in each other’s grip we found that we both have something common. We can fight for our beliefs and our values and beliefs are our own and no one has the power to change them.

And such a commonality in adversity gave birth to a never-ending beautiful relationship called True Friendship. Friends divided by beliefs but united by virtues.
